Following the attack, his son Ibrahim rushed him to Lilavati Hospital in an auto-rickshaw due to a delay in their car’s arrival.

Earlier this morning, police sources informed NDTV that the attacker, who was intending to burglarize the apartment, had gained entry into the compound through an adjoining property. CCTV footage from the stairs of the actor’s house showed the intruder, who was dressed in a T-shirt and jeans, with an orange scarf draped over his shoulders, being captured.
The intruder was first spotted by nurse Eliamah Phillips, who had been living with the Khan family for four years and looking after Jahangir. She told police that she was woken up by noises in the house at around 2am on Thursday, about three hours after Jahangir was put to bed.
Initially, she saw the bathroom door slightly ajar with the light on and assumed that Kareena Kapoor Khan was checking on her young son. “I went back to sleep but soon something went wrong,” she said. After waking up again, she saw a man coming out of the bathroom and entering the boy’s room.
Phillips confronted the intruder, who pointed at her and warned her in Hindi, “Don’t make any noise,” and then demanded ₹1 crore. When she tried to resist, she suffered injuries to her wrist and hand. Her screams alerted Saif Ali Khan, who also tried to save the attacker.
During the struggle, Saif Ali Khan was stabbed six times, with a two-and-a-half-inch piece of the knife breaking off and becoming lodged in his spine. Doctors declared that he had suffered “severe injuries to the thoracic spine.” In addition, two deep gashes on his left arm and a gash on his neck required plastic surgery to repair.
The third person injured in the attack was a maid named Geeta.
Police have registered a case under charges of robbery, trespass and “causing grievous hurt while entering a house”. However, the suspect is still at large.
